Delta-Dry® - benefits of water-resistant casts for orthopedic surgeons with patient hygiene in mind
Delta Dry® undercast padding has a patented 3D knit structure for stretchable application comfort. This protects the skin with a comfortable layer of water-resistant, breathable and washable mesh. It offers excellent drainage and quick drying for improved hygiene and reduced risk of maceration or odor.
Delta-Dry® products are used under synthetic cast tapes providing a fully water resistant immobilization unit for the conservative treatment of fractures. If physicians allow, patients are able to swim, shower or bath during fracture treatment.
As Delta-Dry products are allowed to get wet, patients’ can wash their hands, or shower without using cast protectors or cast covers.

I have an incomplete spinal cord injury and after having an achilles tendon lengthening was put in casts with this. I had a nasty skin reaction to it which caused blisters to form all up and down my legs. I know anyone can be allergic to anything, but in my case I couldn't feel it. Just something to keep in mind.
This depends on the clinicians decision.
When do patients get removable casts? I currently have a broken ankle; will I ever require a removable cast?

.Eu também tinha este detalhe ao ver o vídeo...Em relação a posição do Punho a ficar totalmente reta. faltou uma leve angulação para ficar próxima da posição Funcional.... mas como o usuário BSNMedicalWorldwide explicou ..."técnicas podem variar entre os Países"..... Não gostei ele esqueceu de colocar o punho em posição funcional,se colocar de maneira errada como ele colocou prejudica o paciente,ah posição funcional e o punho levemente pra traz uns 20graus como sua mao fik pra baixo relaxada :Dfalo pq trabalho na área.
